It’s completely ruined my life tbh … prior I had a few minor issues here and there, but nothing too impactful. Where as once I went through the process and was formally diagnosed it’s made me loose 3 jobs having a label employers don’t want, 1 is meh but 3? There’s the face of companies that say and want to be ‘inclusive’ and then there is the reality they just see a problem. No practical help from doctors after the diagnosis.. it’s just here’s your label on your way now. Long story short I wish was never diagnosed … before I knew I was different internally but was treated like everyone else. After … I’ve experienced the discrimination 1st hand and I’m relatively mild in terms of symptoms. I dread to think what some with stronger symptoms have experienced.

Understanding myself and other autistics, being able to have strategies in place to work to my strengths and look to mitigate impacts of challenges. It’s been a life affirming joy. Challenges haven’t gone away but I’m far better equipped for them.

Not at all for my children, diagnosis took so long that Longford park school had already put everything in place and more. We got an autism is like I’ve cream leaflet and we’re sent on our way

It helped with my son when he was younger when he got his diagnosis as he got in an ssc , then plenty of help when at Ashton and he’s got an ehcp but when they get over 18 it’s a nightmare no help just ehcp ! We were told to go to a &e if he has a bad meltdown/mental health episode!! Honest the mind boggles
