Double Victory for I-AM at the Trafford Community Awards!
A huge round of applause for two amazing members of the I-AM Autism community who shone brightly at the recent Trafford Community Awards!

Janine Redgrove, our inspiring Finance Officer, won the Fundraising Champion Award for her dedication to supporting I AM. Janine has literally gone the extra mile for our cause, and will be running (‘although slowly’ – her words!) the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday, October 13th, in support of I AM. If you’d like to contribute to her fundraising efforts, click here.
In addition, long-term I AM member Lucy received the Trafford Young Volunteer Award for her volunteering work with The Little Green Sock Project.
The Trafford Community Awards celebrate individuals and organisations across Trafford who have made meaningful contributions to the community. First launched in 2019, the awards returned this year after a pandemic pause, organised by Trafford Council’s Inclusive Economy and Communities Team. With eight categories, including the Young Volunteer Award, Long Service Award, Fundraising Champion Award, Green Hero Award, Community Star Award, Community Group Award, and Corporate Volunteering, the awards honour the unsung heroes who enrich our community.
Nominations for the awards opened in June and closed on July 31, allowing Trafford residents and businesses to recognise their community champions. On October 4, winners were celebrated at an awards ceremony led by Eamonn O’Neal, the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester. Appointed by King Charles, O’Neal is a well-known broadcaster and journalist with a long history in the North West media, including roles with BBC Radio Manchester, Granada Television, and ITV’s This Morning.
We are incredibly proud of Janine and Lucy for their well-deserved recognition, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the nominees and winners who continue to make Trafford a remarkable place to live and work!
